Alpha Chapter

Alpha Delta Sigma, in the Spring of 2003, became the first sorority to form at the University of Alabama with the specific goal of providing a membership experience rich in diversity, in all of its forms. Our sisters have come from nearly every racial, socio-economic, religious, political, geographical, and philosophical background represented at the Capstone, and we have all benefitted from our interactions with each other. We have learned to value each other for our differences as well as our similarities. While our sorority no longer recruits new members from the university community, those of us who were lucky enough to call ourselves sisters of Alpha Delta Sigma feel proud to have been a part of the great strides made by the outstanding Greek system at the University of Alabama. We hope Greek life at the Capstone continues to make strides toward producing well-rounded and well-educated individuals, capable of thriving in our increasingly diverse society.

"The purpose of this sorority shall be to unite college women in a bond of sisterhood that will defy all barriers and discrimination. Each sister shall be equal in honor and will be welcomed without distincion. The members of this sorority shall be a symbol of equality and stability. We will unify a group of women through scholarship and service to the community."
